April brought us Ezra!! This is a month we won't soon forget....we were so hopeful and praying that I would not have to have a C-section like I did with Silas. I was really, really sure he would be born early and much smaller than Silas' 11 lbs 1 oz. However his due date of May 9th came and went with no sign of our baby wanting to meet us. Being induced was not an ideal situation as it can put additional pressure on my C-section scar. However I did get induced. Previous labors for us had taken 30-40 hours so we weren't, I admit, very optimistic!

But Ezra Bernard (named after my dad) surprised us and was born 1 hour and 45 minutes after my labor started! He weighed 9 lbs 11 oz. which to me seemed nice and small!

The only problem was, he came too quickly. His ENTIRE face, with the exception of around his eyes, was bruised! He was so purple. Even the nurses hadn't seen bruising this severe. It didn't seem to bother him and was completely healed within a few days.

 The kids were pretty excited to meet their new little brother after waiting soooo long for him.

 

Grandma came to Alberta to help us out. She ended up being here a "little" longer than what she had planned because of Ezra's late arrival.

Ezra spends most of his time sleeping. He wakes up only to eat and look around for a few minutes and then off to dreamland again....I'm jealous!

 

These next pictures were a little photo shoot I did. Bernita came over to help keep him positioned and asleep. We laughed a lot....let's just say he maybe should have had a diaper on....especially considering the white rug!!
